The main advantage of using virtual machines is remote connection. A good example for using this would be a classroom situation. There's no need to update to brand new computers every year. Small community school systems could utilize this technology and save a bundle! The major requirement is network bandwidth...schools generally have a solid network in place. The other requirement would be to invest in a single powerful server, much cheaper than replacing all the computers in a lab.
